The secret to a beautiful and healthy smile starts with effective tooth brushing!
We must remember that the teeth have 3 sides which must be cleaned equally well. The outer side, the one towards the cheeks, the chewing side, which the chewing takes place with, and the inner side.
The areas between the teeth where the toothbrush cannot reach should be thoroughly cleaned using dental floss or interdental brushes.
We should not forget to always clean the tongue, as germs can easily accumulate inside the papillae on its surface!
1) Brushing your teeth should be a part of your daily routine.
2) Brush at least twice a day, for 2 to 3 minutes. It takes about as long for your teeth to absorb the substances contained in toothpaste.
3) Do not push the toothbrush against the teeth and gums too hard, because there is a serious risk of causing tissue damage.
4) Place your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle on the teeth and make small, circular movements.
5) After brushing, rinse your toothbrush well with warm water and let it dry. This way, you keep dangerous germs away from your it.
6) Do not stop brushing if any parts of your gums bleed. Gums that bleed during brushing indicate gingivitis; it is a sign that you should visit your dentist!
7) Improve your technique. Even if you think you know how to properly brush your teeth, you can always improve your technique by asking your dentist to train you and suggest the right brushing techniques.
8) Avoid brushing immediately after consuming acidic foods and beverages, such as citrus fruits, wine, fruit juices. The acids in these foods can damage the enamel of your teeth while you are brushing. Wait 30 minutes for the pH of the mouth to return to normal.
9) Always brush your teeth before going to bed.
10) Visit your dentist regularly. Every 2 or 3 times a year, as prevention is the main goal.
