Periodontitis is a serious infection of the gums and tissues surrounding the teeth. It is caused by bacteria that have accumulated in the mouth. Chronic gingivitis and the presence of tartar in the teeth are predisposing factors for its appearance. As periodontitis progresses, the teeth show mobility, pain<\/strong> when chewing, and inflammation<\/strong> which then cause damage to the bone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In order to successfully deal with problems of the periodontium, the preventive treatment programme that each patient will follow must be adapted to their own needs.<\/p>\n Firstly, a thorough examination of the teeth and gums is performed clinically and radiographically.
